FAQ: Why Models Are Not Tested and Whether to Download Ready-Made Slices
Checking Models for Printability
Why don’t we test models before uploading? Physically testing millions of files is impossible. Our job is to collect and structure a library. We monitor integrity: if an STL or OBJ file is corrupted at the software level, it is fixed or removed. Physical printing remains your responsibility. Everything is provided “as is.”
Ready-Made Slices (Lychee / Chitubox)
Many authors upload files with supports already placed (pre-supports) in slicer formats.
Our recommendation: Always prepare slices and supports yourself.
- A ready-made slice is someone else’s settings for someone else’s printer, someone else’s resin, and someone else’s room temperature.
- In 99% of cases, using ready-made presets leads to failed prints and wasted expensive resin.
Group Buys (GB)
We allow organizing joint purchases of expensive models, but only under strict rules and with an understanding of high risks. Economically, this is justified only for rare and genuinely expensive projects.
Choosing a Printer
If you are thinking about expanding your fleet, the optimal path is to combine two different technologies (for example, FDM for large technical parts and terrain + SLA for highly detailed miniatures) or printers from different brands to diversify tasks.
