What are .part1.rar files and how do you open them?
Sometimes a 3D model is so large that it cannot be uploaded as a single piece. Then the huge archive is “split” into several parts: part1.rar, part2.rar, part3.rar, and so on.
The main rule: these pieces do not work on their own. It is like a large IKEA cabinet packed into three different boxes. To assemble the cabinet, you need all three boxes.
How to correctly assemble and open the archive:
Download everything. Make sure you have downloaded every single part.
Put them in one place. Place all downloaded parts in the same folder (next to each other).
Open only the first box. Right-click ONLY on the part1.rar file and choose “Extract” (using free programs WinRAR or 7-Zip).
Done! The program will find the remaining parts in that folder, join them, and extract your model.
⚠️ Common beginner mistakes:
Missing a file: If you downloaded the first and third parts but forgot the second — the archive will throw an error and will not open.
Trying to open part2 or part3: Always start extraction strictly from the first file (part1).
Renaming files: Do not rename the downloaded parts, or the archiver will not be able to find them by number.
